About Us

Experience It, LLC was born May 2005. In the beginning, the company was just a name. It had no products or services, it was just a concept. The owner, Charlene Dodson, started the company with a simple vision - she wanted to inspire people to live life to the fullest, and Experience It!

This vision came while placing an order at a fast-food drive-thru, as Charlene was struck by the question "would you like to supersize it?" Instantly, she had an image of people mulling over a menu of choices in their lives, and as people made their selections a voice would ask, "Would you like to experience it?" She decided, right then, that she would reserve the name "Experience It" as the name of the company that she would, one day, build.

Over the years, she had considered many ideas for her company. The opportunity to purchase a jewelry inventory (in 2009) allowed Experience It to formulate its niche. Charlene describes her creation as a "collision of ideas":

  • create a product that appeals to students, parents, teachers, alumni and the community;
  • make sure the product is part of promoting the Experience It vision;
  • design the product with beautiful, high-quality materials that will withstand the test of time;
  • provide an opportunity for tax-deductible education foundations to be the exclusive promoter of the product within their respective school districts;
  • make a portion of the sale price a tax-deductible donation that directly benefits the participating foundations;
  • use the sales process to help create awareness about the value of education foundations;
  • encourage product buyers to be annual contributors to their education foundations.

These ideas became the inspiration for the creation of the school spirit charm bracelet and memory box collection, and the Make a Connection Programs that offer education foundations an opportunity to participate.

Inspired by a dear friend that always encouraged Charlene to "make memories", Charlene adopted the motto "Life is a journey...create beautiful and lasting memories" as the key inspirational driver for her company and products. It was designed to help its owner capture and memorialize the special moments they experience along their personal journey.

Additionally, as a board member on her local school's education foundation, as well as an elected member of the school board, she understands the economic challenges facing today's schools. She recognizes that state funding for schools continues to be more and more inconsistent, expenses keep increasing and there are limits on how much schools can depend on local taxes, alone, to foot the bill. Increasing private funding through education foundations will be needed to help maintain the quality of education. These factors inspired Charlene to include opportunities for tax-deductible education foundations to participate and benefit from promoting the school spirit charm bracelet and memory box collection. Experience It, LLC wants to help education foundations Make a Connection to potential lifelong donors.
